Work is done in our well-equipped shop in Saint Paul, or on clients' premises both in the Twin Cities area and farther afield.

Consulting and education: We offer consulting services for clients wishing advice on caring for their collections, on the purchase of antique furniture, etc. We also give classes or workshops in these and related areas, either on the premises or through local educational institutions. Read about past and future classes.

Virginia (Vanya) Hoeffding, owner of Fine Restorations, has over 15 years' professional experience and training in restoration woodworking. In 1992 she received a diploma from the North Bennet Street School (click here to learn more about NBSS). During her training she interned with the National Trust for Historic Preservation, at Lyndhurst, Tarrytown, NY. She then worked as an apprentice in the studio of William Woodhead, a Boston area furniture conservator. Since that time she has worked continuously as a restorer and furniture maker.  Fine Restorations relocated to the Twin Cities area in late spring, 2004.
